BBC Good Food Show Winter 2015

26th November 2015 by Rosie

I’m home after a long, but incredibly enjoyable day, at the BBC Good Food Show, Winter 2015, held at the Birmingham NEC.

As one of the official Good a Food Show Bloggers, I’m lucky enough to be able to visit the show twice a year; to walk around, meeting the Bursary Winners who are small artisan producers, through having incredible tasting products, get to exhibit at the show. I also get to chat to the Good Food Champions; a group of the finest, artisan, producers of food and drink.

This year’s Bursary Award winners are: Eponine (award winning chocolates and confectionery), Ogilvy Vodka (made from Maris Piper potatoes), Spice Kitchen (an alchemy of spices), Beri Da (aronia berries), Tipple Tails (fruit cakes) and Sedgewicks Charcuterie (artisan cured meats).

Along with the Bursary Winners, you can also find the Good Food Champions. This year you can adopt an olive tree & receive your own oils, on a quarterly basis, direct to your door from Pomora. From Urban Herbs, you can buy their blend of dried herbs & chillies. Hiver Brewery bring you a honey beer and Proper Nutty deliver a delicious slow roasted peanut butter.

There’s a myriad of things to see, drink and taste along the way from chutneys, cheeses, sauces and pastes to suit every palate and preference, to vodka, wines, soft drinks and coffee. Loads of great ‘street food’ vendors help to keep your energy levels up so you can ‘shop til you drop’ from the amazing exhibitors selling pans, knives, kitchen essentials and beautiful things to adorn your home.

When it’s time to ‘take a load off’ and rest your feet, you’ll find plenty of seats about on which to park yourself for a few minutes, until you’re raring to go again!

The show has several ‘theatre’ areas where you can see som of the biggest names in UK culinary skills demonstrate their recipes, whilst reciting candid stories and tales to keep you entertained.

If you have an interest in good food, drink and some of the best equipment and products you can buy for your kitchen, then a day (or two) at the BBC Good Food Show is an absolute must! There’s so much there that’ll make you glad you came and will make you wanting to come back for more!

The show opened today, Thursday 26th November, and runs for the next three days; Friday, Saturday and Sunday 27th-29th November. Have a fabulous time if you go! I’ll see you again in the summer next year!

I attend the BBC Good Food show on a complimentary ticket as part of their Good a Food Show Blogger community.
