I’m a 50 something daughter and sister. Wife of my childhood sweetheart and mother to two grown up children.
Based in North Northamptonshire, UK, I’m an avid cook who is passionate about good food and proper cooking. I’m keen to introduce others to the pleasure and satisfaction of creating good food from simple ingredients; to teach them that good food really is not difficult to achieve. To try and educate children that they CAN achieve something tasty and healthy for which they can be PROUD.
My 19 year old daughter spends lots of her free time at Uni in the kitchen and can certainly hold her own in the realms of making pasta and pastry, not to mention perfectly skinning a fish! Along with her housemates, she can regularly be found with ingredients out on the kitchen table creating mouthwateringly good food for them to share and enjoy.
I’m proud that my son who graduated from University in 2018 acquired the skills to be able to cook and enjoy a variety of good quality meals, from scratch, on a student’s budget, with not a Pot Noodle or an expensive takeaway in sight! Now he’s moved away and into his first home where he’s started his first job, he continues to make the right choices with food to feed himself a healthy diet.
New for me in 2014 was an invitation to become an official member of the Midlands Team of Food Bloggers for the BBC Good Food Show. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an amazing company alongside some incredibly talented bloggers. A role I continue in today.
In my role as a food blogger, I’m privileged to be invited to food events where I can pick up hints, tips and other valuable lessons that I’m able to share with you here. To all the companies who afford me these opportunities, I thank you.
The recipes contained within my blog have been tried and tested, tweaked and tinkered with. Many of these I have been cooking for my family for many years. I do not (unless otherwise stated) re-publish other people’s recipes and pass them off as my own as I respect their right to ownership. Please afford me the same courtesy and do not publish my recipes or images, without my specific, written, permission.
Please let me share my recipes with you here on my Blog, alongside reviews, tips and hints that I’ve picked up along the way.
Some of the links within my blog may be affiliated, for which I earn a commission of any purchases you may make.
See you soon!
